Weekly Report

Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.  I have been praying this week to recognize miracles, so I have been reading through all the miracle stories to see all the little or big miracles others are noticing. I had the impression to share one of the stories with a friend and she loved it. It was a similar situation to what she's experiencing, she seemed to releived that she isn't the only one having feelings of nervousness and uncertainty.  What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?  Priesthood Authority and Ordinances - I want to focus on the power the priesthood is and how it is used to bless others.  Who did you participate in exchanges with?  How did the exchange go?  Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)  Is there an...

Love, Love, Love And Extra Love To Donate

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I'm sending my weekly today, but tomorrow is still preparation day. On Monday my district walked around Manitou Springs. It looks like a town straight from a hallmark movie, it's super cute. We walked around all the little gift shops and I got some new turquoise earrings #letsgo. There is also a natural Springs there and you can drink the water, it's disgusting. It is very bubbly and tastes like carbonated water haha. Tuesday we met with this guy named Bryce. He was taught by some sisters in another area and is already on date for January 14! He seems pretty solid. We also stopped at a recent converts home, Steven. He has the world's biggest heart and beat outlook on life. He is such a good example to me. He was a jehovahs witness vegore he was baptized so he never celebrated Christmas before this year. He's 60! So we got home a little tree and some gift. He called us later with tearfilled eyes thanking us for our love. He recently had emergency su...

It's that time of week again! Happy Monday It's been a really good week. On Tuesday we had zone conference, it was perfect timing because I felt like the work was starting to get slow and I wanted there to be more to do and more people to visit and teach. Zone conference taught me that when that happens to rely on the Lord. I did a lot of praying this week for a miracle. Whether that was finding someone new to teach or Charlotte wanting to be baptized or someone we meet with to progress more. The elders in my district also did the hawka and only two of them are Tongan so it was really funny. Wednesday is when I started to recognize miracles. Even the small ones. We were able to find someone new. He lives in Kentucky so we were only able to teach a couple of times, but now that we have his address we'll have to transfer him to the missionaries over there, but I was still so grateful to have been able to teach someone about the gospel. We met with Charlotte and were able to t...

Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.  I got to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time and have the spirit help me during a prayer with one of our friends. I asked Heavenly Father to help her find answers to her questions through prayer and scripture study and when I was done she told me how crazy it was that I had prayed for that. She said 30 minutes prior she was talking to her friend about how she needs to read her scriptures more but it seemed like something was holding her back from doing so. She said that me prayer for that was proof to her that the spirit does guide us and the church is true.  What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?  1.2 - standards for life. PMG is a tool I can use throughout my whole life to help me and mu future family learn. This week I am going to focu...

The Many Things Missionaries Witness

Happy Monday everyone!  This week has been pretty slow, but it's ok because I can't seem to get enough sleep, I'm always tired. We love to split our lunch hours and squeeze in naps, but even then I'm still so sleepy. We did a lot of stop by's this week. Basically, go and visit less active members or friends we haven't taught in a while and see how they're doing. Most of the time no one answers and they are just exhausting for no reason. I don't love doing them, but when they do answer it's always a good time. One guy we visited gave us a "care package" but it was actually like a week of groceries. We were so grateful he did that for us. Crazy, weird, and awesome things I've witnessed/expereinced this week: -so we were visiting this woman who just had her first baby, we were sharing a Christmas message from Luke 2 when she just whipped out her breast and started feeding her baby in front of us. I was stunned. I was so uncomfortable I for...

Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.  We were finally able to meet with Nuno and his son Kayan a&er not being able to see then in weeks. Nuno seems to love the church and it's teachings. He just has a few questions, but I have a lot of hope and excitement for him and his son.  What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?  Medical care - I plan to talk with Sister vasas this week about diabetes care, medications, and doctor visits.  Who did you participate in exchanges with?  Sister Funk and Cleverley  How did the exchange go?  They went really well. It's nice to hear different ways the gospel can be taught to others.  Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)  Is there anything else you would like to share? (O...

I Look Like A Recovered Meth Addict?

For pda y last week, we went to garden of the gods and walked around all the red rocks. It made me think of home:) When we met with one of our friends, Charlotte, the spirit was so strong. We called her, because she's been sick, but she's on the fence about baptism because she's catholic and her baptism into that church was traumatic and forced, so she's worried about doing it again. But when we called her, the spirit was so strong, I told her that'd we'd wait until she's ready, because she's our friend first, and friends have each other's backs. Then a few days later we called her again and I prayed that she would be able to find answers to her questions through prayer and reading the scriptures. She said it was crazy I said that because 30 min prior she was talking about that with her friend. She said that proves to her that the church is true but she's still nervous. Later in the week, I finally got to meet Charlotte in person! She is so cool....
