#Bashed

It's that time of week again! Happy Monday

It's been a really good week. On Tuesday we had zone conference, it was perfect timing because I felt like the work was starting to get slow and I wanted there to be more to do and more people to visit and teach. Zone conference taught me that when that happens to rely on the Lord. I did a lot of praying this week for a miracle. Whether that was finding someone new to teach or Charlotte wanting to be baptized or someone we meet with to progress more. The elders in my district also did the hawka and only two of them are Tongan so it was really funny.

Wednesday is when I started to recognize miracles. Even the small ones. We were able to find someone new. He lives in Kentucky so we were only able to teach a couple of times, but now that we have his address we'll have to transfer him to the missionaries over there, but I was still so grateful to have been able to teach someone about the gospel. We met with Charlotte and were able to talk about temple work a bit and she just loved that! She has a sister who passed away when she was younger, so she was so thrilled that she could be baptized for her sister. I think that nudged her closer to her own baptism so she could do that for her sister.

Thursday is when we have our weekly planning. We focus on all or our friends and figure out what lessons they need to be taught that week and set goals. In zone conference we talked a lot about inspired invitations and then planning our lessons based off that invitation. So we've really focused our efforts on that to help our friends progress towards making covenants.

Friday was so awesome because we were so busy. We started with district council and the spirit there was really special while we talked about each of our friends and the goals we have set for ourselves. Then we helped out at a food bank. We made the dinner for all of the volunteers, then had to rush out to go to one of our teaching appointments which was really fun. We just talked about missions and utah because that's where the member served his mission. Then we went back to the good bank to help with clean up as well as eat dinner there. The only downside is we were bible bashed at dinner. Luckily it wasn't super heated but it was extremely frustrating to be told "you don't believe that" even after I told them what I believe. We left feeling a little annoyed, but hopeful they can be taught one day.

Saturday I saw more miracles. Jeremy, one of our friends who is on date to be baptized on Feb 4. He is overcoming some Word of Wisdom issues. We asked him how his smoking and drinking was that week and he said the day prior was really hard and he made a pit stop at the liquor store. We asked if he still had liquor in the house, he quickly stood up to go grab it and give it to us. He is so eager to change his life. I have seen him change so much. He is so much happier as he is striving to give up these addictions. I'm so proud of him.

Yesterday we did a couple of stop bys and one of them was at a members house, the Jaynes. Sister Jayne is celebrating her 95th birthday on Tuesday so we stopped in to say happy birthday and share a Christmas message with them. Her husband also shared about how they met and how they're converts to the church. They had the strongest testimonies. I hope to be like them when I grow old. There is so much love between them and even though they can't do much, they love and share the gospel any way they can.

I know that as we pray for miracles and diligently look to recognize them in our day to day lives, we will see them. God blesses our righteous desires and will place things and people in our paths to help spread the gospel and gather Isreal. I wish each of you a Merry Christmas, love you all!
