The Many Things Missionaries Witness
Happy Monday everyone!
This week has been pretty slow, but it's ok because I can't seem to get enough sleep, I'm always tired. We love to split our lunch hours and squeeze in naps, but even then I'm still so sleepy.
We did a lot of stop by's this week. Basically, go and visit less active members or friends we haven't taught in a while and see how they're doing. Most of the time no one answers and they are just exhausting for no reason. I don't love doing them, but when they do answer it's always a good time. One guy we visited gave us a "care package" but it was actually like a week of groceries. We were so grateful he did that for us.
Crazy, weird, and awesome things I've witnessed/expereinced this week:
-so we were visiting this woman who just had her first baby, we were sharing a Christmas message from Luke 2 when she just whipped out her breast and started feeding her baby in front of us. I was stunned. I was so uncomfortable I forgot what we were even teaching, now we laugh about it but, I'm glad she thinks we're buds and is comfortable around us lol
-we went to hobby lobby to look at rings and this woman bought our jewelry for us
-gas station workers love us and we have gotten free sodas twice this week (we have a bad Dr pepper addiction)
-fed squirrels in a members back yard
-a driving baby!! Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm the driving baby. As a missionary you don't drive during your training. But since Sister Cleverly is leaving and Sister Hull can't drive i get my driving privileges in my training WOOHOO
-climbed a mountain in a dress and it was windyyy. I had a small Marilyn Monroe moment, it was kind of epic. Also now I can say I climbed a mountain in a dress.
Sister Cleverley flies out to New Zealand this evening. I'm gonna miss her but I'm so excited she finally gets to be there.
This Christmas I hope each of you has a moment to watch The Christ Child video. The spirit is so strong and it depicts the nativity so well. I always love to see Joseph and how he interacts with baby Jesus.
1. Our friend Charlotte took our photo after Sister Cleverley's last lesson with her
2. Bowling with the district
3. I painted a book of mormon
