Cracked Out
Hey y'all happy Monday!
Last Monday was a dream. I layed in bed all morning and just enjoyed myself before we had to get up and leave haha. But it was so relaxing, yay for p days!
Tuesday was a lil rough. Idk if you can have the flu for a day, but I think I did. I was super achy and warm. During personal study I was fighting demons to stay awake, when I was done and closing with a prayer I fell asleep kneeling down at my chair lol.
Wednesday I was feeling so much better and I officially hit my 1 year left mark! So weird to think I'll be at the airport and with my family in just a year! Anyway! Sister Johnson and I have been focusing a lot on referrals because our area is so slow. So, we met with a member in our war and she told us to stop by her neighbor. We went over and they were so sweet! We offered them service and she seemed like she'd take us up on it!
Sister J and I have also made it our mantra to 'be in the right place at the right time' this transfer. So, after a long day of unsuccessful stop bys, Sister Johnson suggested we stop at the park and do some cold calls. I was super un excited but agreed haha. We call this guy Louie and it turns out we were right by his house so he invited us to come share a message in person! We went over and talked about Easter and how we celebrated/what we learned. We also were able to share a little bit about the restoration with him! It went really well and I'm stoked to keep teaching him!
Thursday we had exchanges. It was a pretty fun day! I stayed here in Sand Creek and Sister Beard joined me. We helped out at the Bishop Storehouse. It wad really cool! This woman came in who had been living in a tent for six months! She was able to get some food and feel more stable and secure:')
Friday was interviews with President! I usually love interviews but I was a tad nervous because I didn't know what I wanted to talk to him about. I read my fav book of mormon chapter while I waited my turn, Alma 26. When I got in there I asked him how he decides on transfers and how he knows where each missionary needs to be. I told him I know this is where I'm supposed to be, but wanted to know how he knew haha. Basically he prays, a lot, and is led by the hand of the lord. Then Pres asked my where I was in the BoM and I told him Ether 9. He then asked what stands out to me most. I told him the faith that the Brother of Jared had. I know that if I have faith in my friends, even when they don't, it makes a big difference because I've been able to see it. As I was telling him this I remembered a verse in Alma 26. Verse 27 "Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success." And it made me think of my area/the friends we're teaching. If I'm patient and rely on the Lord, he will give me the success I'm looking for!
Saturday and Sunday were stake conference and it was soo good! There was a huge focus on missionary work and serving in the temple. The spirit was definitely with us confirming the truth and sacredness of the messages shared.
