I Am Juan Emmanuel

Good morning,  let's get to it!

I've decided Elders have no concept of time and planning. Lol. On Monday we had a plan but our district leader and his comps (they're a trio) didn't even show up to anything THEY planned haha, so they have been revoked from planning pday. But we did end up doing something fun halfway through the day. Poker,️ I'm so horrible at it.

Tuesday was supposed to be super busy but a ton of people canceled on us. But we helped Bernadine move. Her husband was recently baptized. Their new apartment is so cute. I'm excited for them to get all moved in. 

We had zone conference on Wednesday and it was all over zoom. Our mission president recently had back surgery so he's unable to sit up for long periods of time. During lunch we were given a challenge to place a book of mormon, so we went to Garden of the Gods and talked to lots of people and got lots of no's haha, but it's ok! We planted lots of lil seeds. It was also freezing that day and I didnt wear my coat because I thought it was going to be a nice day. It definitely wasn't. Luckily Elder Johnson had an extra coat in their car and let me wear it. Omg also after our ZC, we went to Jeremy's and my stomach did thee loudest growl everyone just went silent for a sec trying to figure out what the sound was. We all laughed about it and then we kept teaching about the Law of Chastity, HAHAHA DEAD. 

We had interviews Thursday morning and they went well. Mine was so quick compared to last time. Last time I was in there for about an hour and Thursday it was 15 minutes. I love interviews because it's like a baby counciling session haha. Later in the day we visited Sister Schalk and taught us a new grandpa beck's game! It's called The Reign of Draginess. I really like it! And anyone who knows me, knows I love grandpa beck's games. (Maker of skull king and cover your assets.)

We try and find at least one new person to teach every week and we have been struggling for the past 3 or 4 weeks! But on Friday we got  a self refferal, Juan!! We thought he was possessed at first. He's super odd, but also loves all of our teachings. He believes he is Jesus (aka Juan Emmanuel), fhe 4 horsemen, the female christ, and himself. So on our first phone call he introduced himself as 7 different people, it was kinda creepy. He also told Sister Strain and I we are his 2nd and 3rd disciples. And then he prayed for us and prayed I wouldn't be so transparent and Sister Strain wouldn't strain so much ha. We told all the Elders in our district, so Elder Johnson called him and taught him the plan of salvation. He told us he's a stud just has weird beliefs, so we keep teaching him ha. 

Saturday was a pretty busy morning. We helped at the food bank and made LOTS of sandwiches for all of the volunteers. After that, we went to Carol's and shared the Plan of Salvation with her. She likes the idea that we'll be placed in whatever kingdom we're happiest and most comfortable in. It was Craig's bday today!! Luckily, I had to go to Walmart today so we picked up a gift for him as well. We got him a blanket for while he reads. It is soo soft. 

Sunday was awesome. Lucky for me, I didn't wake up too tired (but I definitely still took my Sunday nap ha). After church, Craig got a priesthood blessing and he told us he felt the spirit so strong, it was so cool! We also gave him his gift. He called us later and told us how much he loves it and how he pitnit on his rocking chair where he reads:,) We went to choir and sang a bunch of Easter songs. They're all fun and super pretty. A family in our ward thinks I have ADD because I can hear all the ticking/tapping/buzzing sounds and then not be able to focus so she gave me these noise canceling ear buds, but you can still hear people talk. They're pretty boujee tbh. I'll def try them one day ha.

This week we've been teaching a lot about enduring to the end. It is a commandment we promise we will follow and sometimes it's really difficult! But it is so important we remember to rely on the Lord. He knows us perfectly and has felt exactly as we do. Rely on Him. Utilize the enabling power of the Atonement and you will receive the strength and power you need to keep enduring well.
