#fourmonthsbaby
Hi everyone! Good morning and happy Monday, I always look forward to Monday's so I can share how my week went:,)
Monday was kinda wild. We drove up into the mountains (Woodland Park), it's an Elders area, but we were going to look at ice sculptures. But, because it was Presidents day the buses weren't running so we ate crappy Mexican food instead and we all got sick lol.
I got a free powerade on Tuesday, which is nice, I def needed a lil act of kindness. I decided to study patience this transfer and I'm sure you can guess what's going on... of course I'm hitting ever red light, around people who chew with their mouths open, and all that jazz (smh). So I needed that blue powerade haha. Also we had dinner at this family's house, the Rasmussen's, and the vibes were weird. They turned out all the lights and lit candles and everyone seemed kinda fake. It was odd, but the food was good.
Also exciting news! We met with Charlotte and she knows she'll be baptized one day, but she's not there yet. So she was talking hypothetically but kept saying "I'm going to be baptized and I believe in modern day prophets." It was the coolest thing to hear, because I think she lowkey believes it but needs more faith!
We met with this guy Payton on Wednesday and it was kinda a bash the whole time so that was annoying, but he's still willing to listen and learn so we still teach him. I hope he'll come around eventually! Also we saw Steven after weeks of not hearing from him! He's able to walk and drive so we set a time to come and study with him:)
Thursday was awesome. We had a good meeting with Craig. He called us earlier in the day and told us his roommate Bruce was having high blood pressure problems, so he asked us to pray, so we did. And a while later he called and said they were lowering. GOD ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS!! We called Charlotte and said a prayer with her and the Rasmus' on the other line. She was able to address some questions and concerns with them!
Friday morning started like any other, but then, during our personal study we get a call from Brother Howell. (A few weeks earlier he asked us to pray for his mom who was passing and that she should do so peacefully.) So, he called and thanked us for our prayers and let us know she had passed away peacefully. We headed off to district council shortly after and we get a call from Brother Mcbride and he said we were invited to the lunch service for Brother Howell's mom. They're an Indian family (native American, whatever you wanna call it), so we had fry bread and they gave us blankets! I guess it's like an Indian tradition at funerals to give everyone something because it helps them to not be as grievous. I was honored they'd give me something :,) also I hit FOUR MONTHS today, how has it already been 4 months!?
Oof, also the mission office driving coordinators called me and informed me I got 58 "check your speeds" from TIWI on the 20th and am now a yellow driver lol. I'm just trying to keep up with the flow of traffic :,(
We met with Craig Saturday morning and we talked about the priesthood with him, specifically about priesthood keys. He always comes with questions which is nice because we get to talk about things he's actually curious about. We also gave him some Pero, it's similar to coffee but has no caffeine. He looks forward to trying it. Later we did our comp study at a Kum & Go and this woman walks up to us asking if we were reading the scriputes (we were reading adjusting to missionary life lol) and I was like "uh kinda". Anyway she talked to us for a while and just said she could tell by our countenance we were good people reading the scriptures. She said usually people at gas stations are angry but we were different. Then we ended the day at Jeremy's house for dinner. Sistsr Strain showed her dark side lol. She shared how she'd make a great serial killer because she knows how to dispose of bodies without being caught. Honestly I wasn't sure what to add to that conversation and now the Engler's are scared for me hahahah. But sis strain is an author so she know a bunch of random things for books she writes hahaha.
Saran is real! And he will do everything in his power to stop people from doing good! We must remember God's power is stronger and will protect us, we must rely on it daily! Utilize spiritual cpr!
C - church
P - pray
R - read your scriptures
These three things will keep you happy and healthy and in tune with the whisperings of the holy spirit.
I promise that if you do these things you will draw closer to your Heavenly Father and build a stronger relationship with Him. You will be able to more easily recognize answers to your prayers and you'll be able to feel God's perfect love for you! As we prioritize our relationship with God and our discipleship to Jesus Christ, we will find joy in our divine identity, gain an enduring sense of belonging, and ultimately reach our divine potential.
