Forget Me Not
I've made it to transfer three! Time has been cruising by. How has everyone's week been?
Monday was my last day with Natasha (feels unnatural calling you that now sis hull). I'm grateful for the time I had as her companion and for her training me. I miss you already. Monday we went bowling and I got second place. Best game I've prob ever played and it wasn't even that good haha.
A chapter closed Tuesday morning as I drove to pick up my new companion, Sister Strain. She's really young and things are still kinda awk with her. But we're together for at least 6 weeks so I'm sure we'll find our groove.
There's an Elder in the mission who had a seizure and was in the shower. As He fell he hit the hot water and got burned really bad. He was sent to the burn unit in Denver to recover. Keep him in your prayers!
Sis Hull left me a lil note before she left and she recommended the talk "Forget Me Not" by Dieter F. Uchtdorf and BOY is it good. It's directed toward the relief society sisters, but I think it's a great talk for anyone! I'll talk more about it at the end of my weekly.
We found Payton this week! We called him and answered a bunch of questions he had, he lowkey just wanted to bash but we were able to prove him wrong with all his questions ha. He's really nice though and it was a good discussion! Later that day we stopped at this house looking for a woman named Lauren and her husband answered and informed us she had passed away in June. I felt so awful I started tearing up on his porch. (We went back later on Saturday and left him a goodie basket but he caught us so we just handed it to him. He said it was the nicest housewarming package he'd ever received).
We had dinner at Brother Frank's house on Thursday and it was a good time! He made me think of my dad and uncle so it felt like home kinda. We also had lasagna which I don't normally love, but it was really yummy! We talked about temples and ig endowments have changed?? Someone pls update me lol, but he'll spend an entire day, every week, at the temple. He's awesome!
WE PUT ANDREW ON DATE!! Making two people on date right now!! Please keep Craig and Andrew in your prayers as they strive toward making these baptismal covenants. We also taught Jeremy his FIRST new member lesson. He has come such a long way since I've met him! He was very reserved and sad when I first met him, but now he glowing and he talks... a lot. I'm proud of how far he's come in just 3 short months.
Saturday we helped at a food bank and the two people who bashed sis Hull and I for my first time were there. Luckily we didn't really talk cause we were busy preparing food. But I always love helping out. Service is always fun, especially as a missionary. We also visited Justen again and MAN was he "chatty". I guess he can't really talk but he had a lot to say while we were there. He's uh, very bold lol. But I'm glad we're friends with him and he gets people to hang out with and talk to:)
Sunday was a pretty mediocre day. We went to church, did a bunch of stop bys, texted lots of people to try and get lessons all set up and organized. Overall a normal day haha
"While understanding the “what” and the “how” of the gospel is necessary, the eternal fire and majesty of the gospel springs from the “why.” When we understand why our Heavenly Father has given us this pattern for living, when we remember why we committed to making it a foundational part of our lives, the gospel ceases to become a burden and, instead, becomes a joy and a delight. It becomes precious and sweet." By President Dieter F. Uchtdorf Second Counselor in the First Presidency. I have truly grasped onto that paragraph of the talk, because being a missionary has its ups and downs, but when we remember WHY the gospel is important to us or WHY I am a missionary, it keeps me going!
Have a great week, I love you all!
